We are looking for an Advisory and Inclusion Teacher to join our highly valued and well-established Specialist SEND and Inclusion Support (SIS) Service for a fixed term period. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with expertise in supporting neurodivergent children and young people, including autistic young people, those with ADHD, and those with speech and language or communication needs. It is anticipated that the successful candidate will work within the Communication and Interaction Team, however, you will also be asked to work within and alongside other teams in our service, such as the Emotional Well-being and Effective Learning (EWEL) Team.

This post is temporary for a period of 18 months.
 
WHAT IS INVOLVED? 
The role will involve providing consultation, assessment, advice, interventions and strategies to remove barriers to inclusion and promote the achievement of individual pupils and groups of pupils within educational settings. The role will also require you to work closely with other services and parent/carers. WHAT WILL I NEED? 
You will have:

  • QTS
  • Up to date knowledge of SEND legislation
  • Considerable experience of working in schools with children with SEND and knowledge of strategies, approaches and resources appropriate for children with SEND, particularly neurodivergent young people and those with difficulties in speech and language, communication and interaction
  • Experience of working with professionals from other service areas and supporting parent/carers
  • Experience of delivering training or workshops
  • Your own transport arrangements to enable you to travel distances between schools
