The Personalised Learning College (PLC) is seeking an inspiring and experienced Engagement, Progression and Employability Lead to drive innovative programmes that support learners to engage in education, develop employability skills, progress into meaningful opportunities and prepare for independent adult life.

This is a unique opportunity to shape strategic and operational delivery across a county-wide service supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and additional barriers to participation.

About Personalised Learning College

The Personalised Learning College provides inclusive, community-based education and support for young people who face barriers to participation, progression and employment. We play a vital role within North Yorkshire's post-16 SEND and inclusion system, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to achieve successful outcomes in adulthood.

Our personalised approach enables learners to access education, employment, training and community opportunities that reflect their individual ambitions, strengths and needs.

About the Role

As Engagement, Progression and Employability Lead, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of learner engagement, progression and employability pathways across the Personalised Learning College.

Working closely with curriculum teams, employers, training providers, families and partner organisations, you will ensure that learners, particularly those with SEND, additional needs or disrupted educational experiences, receive the support, opportunities and interventions they need to achieve positive and sustainable destinations.

You will champion inclusive practice, promote innovative approaches to learner engagement and ensure employability, careers education and preparation for adulthood are embedded throughout the curriculum.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated professional who can combine strategic thinking with a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEND to succeed.

Do you have:

• Significant experience within post-16 education and SEND provision or inclusion-focused services.
• A strong understanding of learner engagement, progression and positive destination pathways.
• Experience of designing and leading interventions that improve learner outcomes.
• Good knowledge of SEND and the barriers that can affect participation, confidence and progression.
• Experience of developing successful partnerships with employers, education providers and support organisations.
• The ability to analyse and interpret data to support decision-making and improvement.
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and improving life chances for young people.
