As Transitions Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for transition arrangements across education settings in Nottingham, ensuring that children and young people experience positive, inclusive and well-managed transitions that support their wellbeing, engagement and achievement.
Working across schools, education services and partner agencies, you will lead and coordinate transition activity across Inclusion, Attendance and Behaviour Services, Place Planning and Admissions, and wider school improvement functions. You will develop and promote a coherent city-wide approach, ensuring that transition points are recognised as critical opportunities to improve outcomes, reduce inequalities and strengthen inclusion.
Sitting within the School Improvement Service, you will position transition as a key driver for raising standards and improving educational outcomes. You will work closely with school leaders, education professionals and senior stakeholders to develop effective transition pathways across phases, settings and types of provision, ensuring children and young people receive the support they need to thrive.
You will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and interpreting transition-related data, identifying emerging risks, trends and priorities, and driving evidence-informed action. Through system leadership, partnership working and continuous improvement, you will support the development and implementation of innovative approaches that improve experiences and outcomes for children and young people across the city.
